Irons is one of my favorite places in Cincinnati and is always worth the drive. Our family loves the doughnuts & always buy more than we need because other relatives get mad if we don't grab few for them. You can buy those for much of year and not just fall, which many people don't know. But we love going in the fall for the corn maze, pumpkins and my favorite, apple cider. Definitely worth the visit!
Don't waste your time coming here during the week. We drove 40 minutes here on a Monday in October. There were a small pile of reject pumpkins laying in a pile of dirt outside. Inside they were out of everything. No donuts. No apple cider. No apple fritterI asked when a good time to get these items were and was told the weekend. Why are you even open then? It was a complete letdown.
Family farm. Rare in Warren County for 20 years. Apples are very great price as well as other items for sale. Pumpkins going fast. They have some farm animals and an emu. Corn maze may be largest in area.
My wife is a city girl from Cincinnati, so she loves Irons Fruit Farm and other places that are similar to it around the area. I'm sure she'd give it 4 or 5 stars. However, I'm from northern Ohio where I was raised in the country, working on various farms for most of my life. To me, Irons Fruit Farm (at least as far as my brief experience on this day, October 29th, 2017) was a little lame. The place was kind of shabby and run down; there were visible piles of junk in some of their old dilapidated barns, mold/moss on the buildings, old rusted metal roofs, torn/loose carpet in one of their little "stores". Prices for everything were pretty steep, too: jams, honey, pumpkins, apples.. all considerably more expensive than they're worth (and I don't mean compared to Wal-Mart, rather from the local farmers markets throughout Ohio). I'd have given it 2/5 stars, but I do appreciate what they're trying to do at this place. They're giving people a place to take their children, families and friends to be able to enjoy hay rides, corn mazes, and other "country" experiences, which I love! I just wish they would clean things up a bit and not charge so much for their goods. The staff members were nice.
If they do pick your own apples they weren't doing them 10/19. Saw no signs for corn maze or apple picking. No one was manning the kids tractor ride. The main attraction was the bakery, shop and a small play ground for kids. Just happy it wasn't too far of a drive out and was very easy to find.
